Busy in all the wrong places

Mon Apr 27, 2009, 1:26 PM
  • Mood: Lazy
  • Listening to: The Red Panda Adventures
  • Reading: Night Watch by Terry Pratchett
  • Watching: Mystery Science Theatre 3000
  • Playing: Red Dead Revolver
  • Eating: Chicken
  • Drinking: Apple juice
Even if it might not seem that way, with this account being more or less abandoned nowadays, I've got plenty of stuff going on. It's just that they happen either away from the computer or on other site. So, here's a quick update on my current projects:

Title: Mato-chan
What: A japanese comic/manga about a weird little girl obsessed with bugs. It's cute, it's gross, it's Mato-chan. It's also my first translation project. Or to be exact, some other guy is doing the actual translation, my job is to clean it up, make the text look pretty and offer feedback. It's fun, though, and we work well as a team. Check it out, you might like it.
Where:

Why: Because I was bored and needed some photoshop practice. On top of that, Mato-chan is a fun comic, and this way I get to read the whole thing.

Title:
The Temple of Omab Halls
What:
An adventure module for Dungeons & Dragons 4th edition. Locked inside the sinister of a forgotten infertility cult, a brave group of adventurers must make it past various traps, monsters and a dwarf with a hammer on his head in order to get out alive. If not, they get kicked in the balls. Yeah, it's an entire dungeon with a "people get hit in the balls" theme. I feel so mature. In my defense, it wasn't originally my idea, but started by Anonymous. I just accidentally became illustrator and supplier of helpful advice.
Where:
On 4chan's sub-board /tg/. Original thread and discussions can be viewed here, together with some of my glorious illustrations [link]
Why: It was far too late at night for me to know better. Also it makes me giggle. I do all the illustrations in Microsoft Paint, which is the only art program I can use nowadays due to my computer being crap. My first illustration "job" since first grade.

Title: WAAAAGH! Boffa
What: My Warhammer 40 000 army, Evil Sun orks with koptas and a battlewagon. For everyone who doesn't speak dork or geek, I paint little green plastic men for a game. So for the latest seven months or so, there's been orks all over my apartment. They're pretty cute, I'll post pics when the first 500 points of the army is done.
Where: In my apartment.
Why: I need a non-computerized hobby, and I've been exposed to the whole wargame thing all my life. It's pretty relaxing, and I get to be creative with paints and knives.

Title: Moving again
What: Me, moving out of my old apartment and into a new one.
Where: Uddevalla, a town not far from here but far enough to not be the town I lived in for nine years, and which I am so tired of by now.
Why: Because I need this for so many reasons.

So that's what's up.

I like your style a lot! I'm definitely going to have fun with the Podsol emblem.

Thank you kindly, I'm very much looking forward to it. Thanks for the watch as well.

Not sure if you need it or not, but this is pretty much the griffin design I had in mind. More or less, the "real" griffins in Podsol are more reptilian and only four limbs, not six, but real-life heraldy always played loose with biological accuracy too. Even if you don't use this stock (if you have a better idea, I encourage you to do it your way instead.) the rest of that site has some useful "clip-art" and letters and stuff.

I could have used this last night! What I will probably do is an ornate version, like a metal crest on a gate, and then a simple version, like something you would find on a letter.
